Dalaman Airport Baggage Rules
What you can take, where it has to go, and how to avoid paying at the gate.
Allowances are set by your airline, not the airport. The security rules below apply everywhere; how many kilos and bags you get depends on your fare. Check what your own booking says.
Cabin Baggage
Typical allowances differ sharply between carriers. Jet2 gives 10 kg at 56×45×25 cm free. TUI allows 10 kg. Turkish Airlines allows 8 kg at 55×40×23 cm. easyJet includes only a small under-seat bag (45×36×20 cm) free, charging for anything larger. Pegasus and AJet allow 8 kg.
Bags can be weighed and gate-sized. Paying at the gate is considerably more expensive than adding baggage online beforehand — if you are borderline, add it before you travel. A full airline-by-airline comparison is on our airlines page.

The Liquid Rule and Duty Free
In cabin baggage, each container may hold no more than 100 ml, and all of them must fit in a single transparent, resealable 1-litre bag — one per passenger. The stated capacity on the container is what counts, so a half-empty 200 ml bottle is refused.
This covers gels and creams as well as drinks: toothpaste, sun cream, perfume, shower gel. Liquids bought in duty free after security travel in a sealed tamper-evident bag and are exempt — but only while the bag stays sealed. If you are connecting, do not open it and keep the receipt inside.
Baby food, breast milk and prescription medicines are exempt from the 100 ml limit. Declare them at security; you may be asked to open or test them.
If Your Bag Does Not Arrive
Report it before leaving the airport. Go to your airline’s baggage desk in the reclaim hall and get a PIR (Property Irregularity Report). The reference number on it drives every subsequent claim; without it, later claims are much harder.
Give the hotel address and a contactable phone number — found bags are delivered to your accommodation, and most turn up within 24–72 hours. Keep receipts for essential purchases while you wait, as these are often reimbursed.
Written notice deadlines matter: 7 days for damage, 21 days for delay. A bag not found within 21 days is treated as lost and the compensation process begins under the Montreal Convention.

How big can my cabin bag be?
