About Dalaman Airport

Dalaman Airport (IATA: DLM, ICAO: LTBS) serves the south-western Turkish coast from a site 6 km outside the town of Dalaman in Muğla province. It has two terminals: T1 for domestic flights and T2 for international arrivals and departures.

The airport is strongly seasonal. Between April and October it handles a heavy programme of charter and scheduled leisure flights from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Russia. Through the winter the schedule shrinks back to domestic services to Istanbul and Ankara, with most European routes suspended until spring.

For UK visitors it is the closest airport to Fethiye (50 km), Ölüdeniz (60 km), Çalış Beach (52 km), Hisarönü (58 km) and Dalyan (25 km). Marmaris is 95 km away — reachable from Dalaman, though Bodrum is an alternative for some Marmaris itineraries.

Getting from the Airport to Your Resort

There are four realistic options. Private transfer is door-to-door at a fixed price, with your flight tracked so the driver waits if you are late — the usual choice for families and anyone arriving at night. HAVAŞ coaches run to Fethiye and Marmaris town centres on a published timetable and are the cheapest option, but you will need onward transport to your hotel.

Taxis are metered and available outside both terminals without booking, but the fare to distant resorts can exceed a pre-booked private transfer. Car hire makes sense if you plan to explore — the coast road is scenic and in good condition — but note that parking in Ölüdeniz and Fethiye is limited in high season.
