Which Option Should You Choose?

Private transfer is door-to-door at a price fixed when you book. Your flight number is tracked, so if you land late the driver waits at no extra charge — the main reason it is the default choice for night arrivals and families with children. For three or more passengers it is often cheaper per head than the coach plus onward taxi.

HAVAŞ coach is the cheapest option and runs to Fethiye and Marmaris bus stations on a published timetable, timed loosely around flight arrivals. It does not go to your hotel, so budget for a local taxi or dolmuş at the other end, plus waiting time. If your flight is delayed, the coach will not wait.

Taxi requires no booking — there is a rank outside both terminals — and is metered. For Dalyan or Sarıgerme this is reasonable; for Marmaris or Kalkan the meter typically exceeds a pre-booked private transfer.

Car hire suits itineraries with a lot of exploring. The coast roads are good and signposting is clear. Bear in mind that parking in Ölüdeniz, Fethiye centre and Kalkan is genuinely difficult in July and August.

Booking Advice

Book before you fly, especially for arrivals after 22:00 — late flights are common at Dalaman in summer and options thin out once the last coach has gone. Give your flight number, not just the arrival time; that is what allows the operator to track a delay.

Confirm what the quoted price includes: number of passengers, child seats, and whether it is one way or return. Child seats are legally required for young children and are not always fitted by default — request them when booking.

For the return journey, agree a pick-up time based on your departure, not your arrival experience. Allow 2–2.5 hours at the airport for international flights, plus the drive.
